![]() ![]() Ronald Harris was found blue and unconscious by K-9 Officer Derby around 10 p.m. Officers from the Harrison Township Fire Department and the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department assisted the investigating officers and other troopers who responded to the crash.A 59-year-old Corydon man, who suffered near-fatal injuries after a fall in the Harrison-Crawford State Forest, was rescued Wednesday night with help from his cell phone and an Indiana Conservation Office K-9. ![]() Neither alcohol nor drugs are suspected to be factors in this crash. The driver of the white Volvo was not injured. The Jefferson County, Kentucky Coroner’s office notified family members of the deceased. Tragically, Clarence Mitchell succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased by the Jefferson County Coroner shortly after arriving at the hospital. Mitchell, 64, of Dearborn Heights, Michigan, sustained life-threatening injuries and was flown to the University of Louisville Hospital. The impact of the crash then pushed both vehicles off into the emergency lane on the south side of I-64, where both vehicles came to rest. As the white semi merged into the slow lane of the interstate, the red semi collided with the rear of the car hauler trailer. At the same time, a Red 2014 Volvo semi-truck, pulling an empty box trailer, was eastbound on I-64 approaching the same exit. Trooper Ben Davis and Trooper Tate Rohlfing, both Sellersburg Post Crash Reconstruction Team members, responded to the scene to assist Harrison County officers and assume the investigation.Īfter the preliminary investigation, Troopers believe a White 2013 Volvo semi-truck pulling a car-hauling trailer was merging into the eastbound lane of I-64 from the Corydon exit.
